THE AFE BABALOLA UNVERSITY LIBRARY ONLINE E-RESOURCES
Introducing, the Afe Babalola University
Library online e-Resources a compendium of subscribed journals and eBooks
accessible on the university website to students, researchers and scholars. As
a result, the university e-library is equipped with subscribed academic
databases that cover a variety of subjects ranging from specialist subjects to
much broader topic areas.
These
databases typically include peer-reviewed academic journals, conference proceedings,
books, dissertations, and other scholarly materials. And they
allow users to search for articles, books, and other materials on specific
topics, authors, or keywords.
Besides, the
ABUAD university e-library have some of these subscribed databases on display
and they are as follows:-
PROQUEST EBOOKS
EBook Central is an all-in-one eBook
platform for research, discovery, selection, acquisition and administration for
libraries. It brings content from an unparalleled selection of publishers into
one unified experience giving students, faculty and researchers seamless and
immediate access to the eBooks they need.
And librarians also benefit from
LibCentral, the administrative module where they can manage their entire EBook
Central acquisition program and produce reports to help understand what’s
working and what isn’t — and make on-the-fly changes to accommodate budget as
well as student and faculty needs.
Moreover,
the ProQuest EBook Central contains over 200,000 eBooks from various publishers
across a wide range of academic disciplines. The collection includes books from
major university presses and other scholarly publishers and titles are added to
the collection regularly.
Books
can be read online in your web browser or can be checked out and downloaded for
offline reading. Checking out and downloading a full book requires creating a
ProQuest account and installing Adobe Digital Editions. A limited number of
pages per book can be printed or downloaded in PDF form.
Creating
a ProQuest account allows you to highlight and make annotations while reading
books in your browser. Books you highlight or annotate will be listed in the
Bookshelf section of your account.
However,
books are surfed by subjects for easy search and are grouped according to areas
of discipline as highlighted below with hyperlinks to the webpage interface of
the database.

J-Gate is the most
comprehensive database and access gateway for the discovery of global e-journal
literature. Today, it qualifies to be the world’s largest database of journal
articles – indexing metadata of over 71 million journal articles from 58,000+ journals
and 15,000+ publishers in multidisciplinary domains, updated daily.
Launched in 2001 by
Informatics India Limited, J-Gate is an electronic gateway to global e-journal
literature. J-Gate provides seamless access to millions of journal articles.
The J-Gate platform is fronted by a simple, intuitive, and easy-to-use
interface, and also gives users complete control over search filters. By
allowing users to access content from a wide variety of publishers on a single
platform, J-Gate exponentially increases journal usage.
More so,
J-Gate primarily indexes journals which are scientific and
scholarly, it also includes professional & industry journals. Journals indexed in J-Gate should have full text articles
and there is no subject restriction for inclusion.
However, J-Gate
contains indexed journal articles,
theses, book series, conference proceedings, and audio/video materials in
